# Import: BigQuery

> Create a data contract from BigQuery, via an exported JSON file or the BigQuery API.

Creates a data contract from BigQuery, either directly from the BigQuery API or from an exported table definition (JSON file).

## From the BigQuery API

Repeat `--table` for multiple tables, or omit it to import every table in the dataset. Authentication uses Application Default Credentials (`gcloud auth application-default login`, or `GOOGLE_APPLICATION_CREDENTIALS`).

The generated contract includes a ready-to-test `servers` block, so you can run `datacontract test datacontract.yaml` immediately afterwards — see the **[BigQuery connection guide](../testing/bigquery.md)** for the full 5-minute walkthrough and troubleshooting.
